Obituary

Betty Eloise Brown was born on November 8, 1926 to Clint and Magdalena Brown in Bradenton, Florida.  She was the first born of three siblings.  Betty lived her formative years on the west coast of Florida.  After high school Betty attended Valparaiso University for two years around 1945-1946.  Betty married Milton W. Petlitzer in Tampa, Florida on December 29, 1947.  Betty and Milton moved to Chicago when Milton was transferred by his employer, Wilson Foods, to that area.  While living in Chicago Betty worked as an executive secretary at the Chicago office of AMOCO Corporation.  Sometime later Wilson transferred the couple to Oklahoma City.  Betty and Milton were divorced in June of 1970.  While in central Oklahoma, Betty met and married the man of her dreams, Lawrence "Larry" Renth.  They moved to the Eufala area until Larry's health began to fail.  In 2009 Betty and Larry returned to Oklahoma City, residing at Concordia Continuing Care Retirement Community until she eternally joined her heavenly family and friends on April 24.  Betty was preceded in death by her father and mother, and her late husband Larry Renth.  Survivors include brother James Clint Brown, sister Dorothy Jane Benke, nephew Stephen Benke, Son-in-Law George Renth, Daughter-in-Law Paula Renth Ulrey and her husband, Mitch Ulrey, numerous friends from her Messiah Lutheran Church family, and many friends remaining at Concordia CCRC.  Funeral services are pending with Chapel Hill Funeral Home.
