Bonita Rose Wade, 88, mother, grandmother, house plant hoarder, chicken figurine wrangler and Mexican Cornbread Queen, died at home on March 14, 2022 ensconced in her nest built using all the pillows known to exist in our galaxy. She made her grand entrance into this world on March 15, 1933, in Tuttle, OK and was one of seven ornery and stubborn children born to Bill and Beulah Ring.
Bonita was always up for an adventure. Five kids? Sure, how bad can it be? Her house needs a new roof? She’s the lady for that job! Impromptu road trip to end an argument? It’s the perfect plan. She was a firm believer that thru thick and thin family is family no matter what and if she thought you might’ve forgotten, she’d remind you, loudly. She believed you should never doubt the magical power of bacon grease and that butter was actually a plague set upon us from above. She was a tender hearted lady who never met a cake mix, baby or cactus she didn’t like. Her door was open to anyone in need of love, family and home cooked meals, she was the caretaker of the family for young, old or anyone in need.
Always an optimist, she was married twice to Kenneth L Booth and Vernon E. Wade, both of whom preceded her in death.
She is survived by her siblings Norma Garner of Smithfield, VA, Billy Ring of Oklahoma City, OK, Jessie & Sue Ring of Eufaula, OK, Ronald & Karen Ring of Blanchard, OK, her children Glenda G & Bill Green of Wellington, CO, Kenneth L & Janis Booth of Oklahoma City, OK, Johnny W & Deena Wade of Moore, OK, Vernon E & Kelli Wade of Oklahoma City, OK and April & Chris Peak of MCloud, OK and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents Bill and Beulah Ring, Sibling’s Glenn W Ring and Carolyn N Thompson.
Services will be held Saturday April 2, 2022 at 10am at the Mayridge Baptist Church at 4617 S May Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73119.
