Bradford “Dean” Albert, age 86, of Edmond OK and Caldwell KS passed away Friday 10-23-2020 at the home of his son in Guthrie OK.
Dean was born April 4, 1934 in Caldwell Kansas to Joseph and Mildred Albert. He grew up in the Caldwell, Bluff City and Cedar Vale Kansas area. While living in Caldwell he was an auto mechanic, Sumner County Deputy Sheriff and volunteer firefighter. In 1964 he moved to Edmond OK to work for Craig Ayers Chevrolet as a mechanic. His true passion was farming and would spend weekends helping out at the family farm of his aunt and uncle west of Caldwell. He always said driving the tractor was his stress relief. After his retirement he spent most of his time living at the farm and was driving the tractor up until this September when illness prevented him from continuing. He never forgot a birthday and never failed to send a birthday card to all family members.
Dean is survived by a sister, Vlasta Albert of Caldwell KS, a son and daughter in law, Larry and Becky Albert of Guthrie Ok, a daughter, Brenda Summitt of Blackwell OK, step daughter Shirley Bucannan of Edmond OK, and step son Larry Benedict of Edmond Ok, 7 grandchildren, 1 step grandchild, 16 great grandchildren and numerous cousins he dearly loved.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Mildred Albert and long time companion Leona “Duckie” Benedict.
Before his death Dean accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior securing his spot in heaven. He has chosen to be cremated and a memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
