Obituary

Charles Edward Hawkins Sr, age 88 of Warr Acres, OK passed into Heaven to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 8, 2020.

Charles was born in Guthrie, OK on July 8, 1932 to John Henderson and Lois Hawkins. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, John and Herman. He is survived by his wife Edra, 3 children: John (Michele) Hawkins, Laquita (Jim) Clay and Charles II (Sharon) Hawkins; 4 grandchildren: Hilary (Mike) Clay, Lauren (Jamie) Wheat, Mollie and Matthew Hawkins and 4 great-grandchildren:  Henry and William Clay, Crosby and Maggie Wheat. Charles is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Charles served in the Air Force from 1951 to 1955 and retired from Tinker Air Force Base. He was a member of Putnam City Baptist Church. Charles was deeply loved and will be missed by his family and friends.

A private family service was held 12/22/2020 at Summit View Cemetery in Guthrie, OK. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Children’s Ministry at Putnam City Baptist Church 11401 N. Rockwell Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73162 or your local food bank.
