On Friday, January 17, 2020 Clark Marks passed away at the age of 66 in Oklahoma City from complications of heart surgery. Clark was born in McAlester, Oklahoma on February 6, 1953 to George and Kay Marks. He was preceded in death by his mother Kay Bauter (born Mary Katherine Clark), father George Marks, brother Wayne Starr, sister Sherri Starr-Zelnick, and nephew Stephen Marks. He is survived by his son Sean Marks, his brother Gary Marks and wife Lisa, his sister Pamela Rodgers and husband Mark, and dozens of nephews, nieces and cousins scattered from Alaska to Texas.
Clark grew up in several cities around the country. He graduated from East Anchorage High School in 1971 and immediately joined the U.S. Marine Corp, where he served with distinction in California and Japan. Upon the expiration of his military service, he joined the FAA as an electronic engineer. His career with the FAA spanned 46 years culminating as an Instructor at the FAA Academy. He had a brilliant mind and was a member of the high IQ society Mensa. Clark was also a member of the NRA and loved guns, golf, bowling, boating and fishing. He was a wizard at pool and poker. He particularly loved computers. Clark was a loving father, son and brother. He had a huge heart and always put caring for others ahead of taking care of himself.
