Cynthia Whitney-Proctor fought a courageous battle with cancer, and left us to be with Jesus on April 5, 2020. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family. She was born on September 18, 1959 to Donald D and Mary Jo Hart, and was the youngest of four children. She left behind many family and friends, including a loving husband of 34 years: Terry Proctor, three children: Lance Whitney, Brandi Hodges, and Tara Sharp with husband Scott, 10 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, 2 brothers and their families: Mike and Robin Hart with their daughters and grandchildren, Tim and Tracey Hart with their daughters and grandchildren, 1 sister: Mendy Kane, cousin: Denise Shaw, many wonderful cousins, aunts and uncles, as well as loving family members Orion and Hedi Whitney, and sisters through marriage/friends by choice: Debbie Edwards, Stephanie Newton, Jennifer Johnson, and Valerie Silva, as well as so many other family and friends.
She had a wonderful career at OU Health Science Center as the Assistant Director of Information Systems for OU Physicians, where she gained a work family she loved so much.
She accepted Jesus as her Savior and was a member of Eastland Hills Church in southeast Oklahoma City.
Cindy was a beautiful soul, who always saw the best in every situation, possessing a spirit, heart, and mind-set that influenced/touched so many, and is one we could all learn from. Even when fighting cancer she had a smile on her face, an amazingly upbeat and positive attitude, and joy in her heart. May we all embrace life and the gift of every breath as she did.
She was reunited in heaven with her mom and dad.
