David Wayne Thomas, 60, beloved Brother, Son and Uncle, passed away 6/2/2022 after a brief battle with Lung Cancer. He made peace with the Lord 5 years ago and steadfastly worked to help others achieve their peace as well. He was a 5 year AA winner. David was born November 17, 1961 in Sumpter, South Carolina. He and his sisters were Air Force brats, living in such locations as Alaska, Texas, Germany, Colorado, North Dakota, England, Colorado, Louisiana, and Florida. Moving so often they were their own best friends. David graduated from University of Louisiana with a degree in Business. He managed a number of restaurants in his career. His last job involved catering large events in an event center. He loved feeding people and he was an excellent chef. David loved his family and was a wonderful Uncle to Nieces and Nephews. He especially loved his Grand-Nieces Reagan, Chandler, and Marilyn. He loved that Marilyn was named after his Mother. David enjoyed golf and watching his Nephews play various sports and Nieces play softball and soccer. He always enjoyed reading and talking history with anyone. He loved enlightening others with his take on things. His smile and charm always lit up any room he was in. David is now playing a Heavenly game of golf while visiting with his Mom, Dad, and many other family members- including his favorite dog. He is preceded in death by his Parents Larry and Marilyn Thomas. He is survived by his Sister Brenda Thomas Coward and her husband Richard, Sister Laura Lynn Estes and her husband Lee, Nephew Ricky Coward and his wife Erica, Nephew Stephen Coward and his wife Rachel, Niece Meagan Gray and her husband Cade, and Niece Lexi Coward, and Aunt Pat and Uncle Jim Kroll. A private memorial will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society, American Lung Association, or Traditions Hospice in Edmond, OK will be accepted.
