Gerald C. Cote, age 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by local family members on February 26, 2020 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born May 14, 1940 in Grand Falls, New Brunswick, Canada to Willie and Antonia Cote. He moved to the United States in 1954 and grew up in New Britain, CT. Gerald was happily married on April 20, 1963 to Shirley Paradis, who since passed away on February 1, 2019. He missed her very much over the past year and now joins her with our heavenly father. He claimed he had two left feet when he met her at a dance hall, but always managed to dance with her at every wedding or event he attended. He always found ways to make people laugh no matter what the situation and to lend a helping hand in any way he could. He enjoyed his dogs, Heath and Bella and watching the birds that came to feed everyday in his backyard. He was a machinist most of his life retiring many years ago.
He was predeceased by brothers Laurent, Clifford, Gerard, and Bertrand Cote and sister in law Carmelle Cote, along with sister, Gloria Raymond and Lorraine Cote. He is survived by brothers Camille, Pat and Brian, along with sisters Diane Cote and Noela Langlois and her husband Roger Langlois, brother in law Norman Raymond, and sisters in law, Eleanor Cote and Kristina Cote; along with many nieces and nephews. Also survived by his daughters and sons in law Christine and Vernon OFlaherty, Mary Jo and Robert Shepherd, Adele and Jeff Monteith, Barbara and David Norton and June Cote; also grandchildren Michelle, Melissa and William OFlaherty, and his wife Kristina OFlaherty, Jeremiah Griffith, JC Cote, Aaron Boatright, Mitchell Brooks, Anne and Timothy Norton, Alex, Jacqueline and Terrence Cote, along with many great grandchildren.
