Jean Klingaman left her earthly life and began her Eternal life in Heaven on August 21, 2021. Her time on this earth was 89 years, 8 Months, 1 Week and 6 Days.
Jean was born on December 9,1931 in Idabel, Oklahoma. She was the fifth child born into a family of seven children.
She was educated through the Idabel school system, graduating High School in 1931. She continued learning and gaining new skills as each new opportunity presented itself.
Jean married Bill Klingaman and together they had one daughter, Teri.
Jean’s employment history was with Southwestern Bell, Western Electric and Fox Brick and Stone before she began her 41-year ministry serving Oklahoma Baptist in many different capacities. She began as the Church Secretary at Sunnyside Baptist Church, and then at Western Hills Baptist Church. From there she moved to the Education Department of the Capitol Baptist Association in OKC. She then became the Director of Education of Comanche Cotton Baptist Association in Lawton, OK. She served both Oklahoma Baptist University and The Baptist Retirement Center by raising money through their Capital Campaigns. Her next assignment was to lay the groundwork and begin a thriving Alumni Association for Golden Gate Seminary in San Francisco CA. Sensitive to the needs of her aging Mother, she returned to OKC to oversee her care. During that time, Jean worked as Development officer for Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children.
Jean retired in 2006 because of health issues.
Jean is survived by her Daughter Teri and her husband Steve, her Grandchildren, Stori Reid, Bryce Reid and wife Aley, Tyler Reid and wife Emily. Her Great Grandchildren, Brianna, Alainna, Joanna, Jacob, Stephen, Gage and Claire. She is also survived by her older brother James.
Excellence was her way of life and was evident in everything she did.
She will be greatly missed by those of us left behind, but we look forward with great hope for our eternal future together in heaven.
