On Friday, April 24th 2020, Jeanie Ellis, loving mother of two sons, Tim Brinigar and Ché Fitzgerald passed from this life at the age of 73 to her new home with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Jeanie was born on July 1st 1946 in Oklahoma City, OK to Floyd and Dollie (Fromm) Ellis who named her Loma Jean Ellis. She majored in journalism at Oklahoma State University and went on to teach. She also worked for newspapers, the Oklahoma Department or Tourism and Recreation, and the Air Force as a civilian. Jeanie also worked at Rose State College for a time and retired from EOC Tech Center. She even ran her own company, JE Enterprise for a time.
Jeanie absolutely loved horses as well as cats, dogs, and birds. She enjoyed listening to “good” country/western music. “Not this new stuff they call country” she would say. Jeanie loved to laugh and be ornery. But mostly she was known for helping others. Whether that was family, friends, or neighbors, if she knew there was a need she would do whatever she could to help. When it came to Christmas or birthdays she would always go out of her way to make sure people felt special and loved.
Jeanie was preceded in death by her father, Floyd, and her mother Dollie as well as her sisters Rebecca Wilmes and Katheryn Hull. She is survived by her two sons, Tim (wife, Melody) and Ché (wife, Katherine), two sisters, Virginia Sue Daukei (husband, Link) and Mary Elizabeth Nally, two brothers, Melvin Hiilier (wife, Barbara) and Robert Ellis , one brother-in-law, Olen Hull, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a future date once groups are allowed to gather again.
