JOHNNY HT NO, AGE 99, passed from this life peacefully on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at his home in Bethany, Oklahoma with his family by his side.
Johnny was born in Korea and spent his early years there. In the 1960s, Johnny entered civil service as an interpreter for the 45th Infantry Division of the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Afterward, he continued his work as a civilian for the United Nations and the U.S. military in Vietnam. In 1972, he immigrated to the United States and built his home in Bethany, Oklahoma.
Johnny always had a smile and an encouraging word for everyone he met and lived each day by his motto, “Always Smile.” All who knew him were touched by his grace, thoughtfulness, and generosity. He had a kind, pure, and generous soul, always putting others first, never wanting anything for himself. He found happiness in reading the teachings of Buddhism and his daily walks through his neighborhood. He continued to walk for miles every day, even in his later years.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, his son, daughter, and daughter-in-law. He was also fortunate to have six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren with one more expected this summer.
