Kelly Binion was born July 1, 1960, in Perryton, Texas, to Doc and ImaJean Binion. He passed away on February 28, 2023, in Cheyenne, Oklahoma.
Kelly went to school in Cheyenne, Oklahoma, and lived with “Grampa” and “Grandma”, Lee and Grace Binion, when he was young for a short time. He later moved back to his parents in Cheyenne. Kelly lost his dad in November 1975. He went to work at a young age to help his mom.
In the summer of 1980, Kelly met Angela Ooten and they had a daughter, Christina, in June of 1981. He was proud to be a father. In the summer of 1988, Kelly’s son, Michael Kelly Binion, was born. He was thrilled to have a boy. In the fall of 1990, his baby girl, Beverly Grace, was born. She was always his baby girl. Kelly was always proud of all his children. Every accomplishment his kids made, no matter how small, was a point of achievement and pride for Kelly. In 1995, he married Beverly Woodworth, where he earned four bonus children: Dustin, Brittany, Josh, and Amanda Jean. Kelly cared for them like his own, even after the relationship with their mom ended. When his grandchildren came along, he was even more ecstatic. He lived for his grandchildren. He valued family above all.
During the earlier years of his life, he worked in the oil field patch, and was also on a seismograph crew. Later in life, he worked for Wright House Moving. He really liked working for Phil and finding the old things they would unearth when moving the old houses.
Kelly always saw the good in others. He would see the positive when no one else did. He touched a great many lives with his compassion and generous nature. Kelly will be missed by a multitude of people.
He is preceded in death by his parents and dearly loved grandparents.
He is survived by his children, Christina Harness and husband, Greg of Elk City, OK, Michael Binion of Elk City, OK, and Beverly Binion and partner, Brandon of Elk City, OK; grandchildren: Trynity Campos, Stanley Holley, Kalie Holley, and Bradley Harness; siblings: Jim Binion, Verla Binion, Carol Ingram and husband, William, and Kenny Binion; and many, many cousins and good friends.
