Obituary

Kyle Randal Ransford

July 24, 1954 ~ July 31, 2020 (age 66)

Kyle Randal (Randy) Ransford, 66, resident of Oklahoma City passed away peacefully at his home July 31, 2020 with chronic health problems. He was born in Fulda, Germany and was adopted by Francis Eugene and Marian Virginia (Rhynard) Ransford.

Randy attended Putnam City High School in Oklahoma City and worked as a salesman throughout his life.  He was a truck driver for several years and then became a site manager for 17 years with American Self Storage.

Randy was a natural musician at heart, played the piano and loved listening to smooth jazz.  He loved old movies especially westerns. Throughout his life he had an affection for animals with many horses, dogs and cats in his formative years.  He  was quick to start a conversation with just about anybody and it would usually involve a joke or two, quick wit and a smile.  He considered his customers and other acquaintances to be friends or even family.

Randy is preceded in death by his father, Francis Eugene Ransford, his mother, Marian Virginia (Rhynard) Ransford, his stepmother, Mary Leone (Brown) Ransford, and his stepbrother Mark Brown.

Randy is survived by his son, Kyle Randal Ransford Jr. of Diamond City, Arkansas, his twin sister, Kerry Rhonda Ransford of New South Wales, Australia,  his brother, Mark Rustin Ransford of Chapin, South Carolina, and his two stepbrothers, Craig Brown of Oklahoma City and Richard Brown.

Randy’s ashes will be scattered in Colorado (a place with fond childhood memories) per his wishes.

Randy will be missed by his family and many friends.  Please share your thoughts and memories with others using the Tribute Wall.
