Lester Gene Ohrt, 64 of Edmond, Oklahoma formerly of Sumner, IA, passed away Saturday February 22, 2020 at Integris Baptist Hospital in OKC, OK.
Lester Gene Ohrt was born April 6, 1955 in Waterloo, IA. He graduated from Tripoli High School. He worked for Hurst Construction for 10 years. He was a supervisor at BRB Contractors for 29 years. He was a supervisor at Rosetta Construction for 2 years before retiring in September of 2016. In his retirement he enjoyed traveling and picking up his grandsons every summer. He visited many states in his travels. Lester enjoyed fishing and deer hunting which he has done for many years.
On July 19, 1975 he was united in marriage with Carolyn Grahlman at Faith United Church of Christ in Tripoli, IA. After living in several states because of work, Lester and Carolyn made their home in Edmond, OK. He loved being a husband, father, and grandfather. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Carolyn; his son Eric (Sarena) of Royal Center, Indiana; His daughters, Sara (Steven) of Bullhead City, AZ, and Cassandra (Jeff) of Edmond, OK. He was proud of his grandchildren, Brittany, Ally, Kaylea, Sarah, Braden, Lexi, Drew, Jayden, Blake, Annabelle, and Ki; His brothers Gene (Nina) of royal center, IN, Bill (Dione) of Ionia, IA, and Max (Janell) of Sumner, IA; His sister Sharon Cook (Dave) of Oelwein, IA, Yvonne Vongroven (Gordy) Waukon, IA; Aunts, uncles, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by his parents Chester and Phyllis Ohrt; Father-in-law Dale Grahlman; Mother-in-laws: Ida Mae Warren Turner and Marilyn Grahlman, and several aunts and uncles.
