Born in Tulsa, OK to Lynn Lester and Nadine Marie Morris, she graduated from Harding High School in 1958, where she was a member of Courtesy Club and Pep Club. She married William David Rayburn in 1959, and they recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
While raising their children, she was an active member of PTA and Camp Fire girls. She worked as a medical secretary at Oklahoma City Allergy Clinic for several years. Her love of cooking and home décor led her to work for Arthur Graham's, Creative Cookery and Plugge's Upholstery. An avid gardener, she received her certificate for Master Gardener from OSU-OKC in 1999.
She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. As a member of the Altar Society, she served terms as President and Vice-President, and was honored as a Woman of Achievement in 2011 for her work in the church.
Preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert Lynn Morris; granddaughter, Megan Elizabeth Simons; and sister-in-law, Hazel Rayburn.
She is survived by her husband, David; and three children, Julia Marie Simons and husband Bob Simons, of Oklahoma City; Christopher Scott Rayburn and wife Tina, of Lincoln, MI; and Robert Warren Rayburn of Oklahoma City; two grandsons, Blake Simons, of Houston, TX; and Austin Rayburn, of Lincoln, MI. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, John Rayburn; three nephews and their wives, Steve and Jan Rayburn, Jim and Sandy Rayburn, and Johnny and Shelley Rayburn, all in the Dallas area; and cousins, Susan McNutt, of Vian, OK; and Don and Wanda Clark, of Shawnee, OK.
Thank you to all friends and neighbors for your love and presence throughout her life, and your calls and assistance during the last few years; she loved you all.
Funeral service to be held Saturday, June 13, 2020, 10 AM, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 1901 NW 18th.
