We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Affordable Cremation Service
Ronald Mark Ferguson went to be with the Lord on May 27th, 2022 at 61 years old in Yukon, Oklahoma. Mark was born on April 13th, 1961 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Bill and Shirley Ferguson.
Mark was married to the love of his life, Susan, on September 19th, 1987 in Mansfield Arkansas. Together they were blessed with a large family including but not limited to children: Carolyn and Bert Spears, Jennifer and Aaron Riel, Tim and Lindsey Ferguson, Valeigh Ferguson, and Stephanie Pyles, as well as grandchildren: Alexus Scott, Haelle Scott and fiancee David Carroll, Rebbecca Spears, Ethan Blue-Frick, Gavin Blue-Frick, Hannah Riel, Macy Riel, Libby Riel, and Ellie Ferguson.
After attending college at OU, Mark became a police officer and then went into the Navy with an honorable discharge. He returned to police work for a time followed by security work ending up in retail before he became disabled. Protecting and caring for others was always a priority for Mark. In fact, he became disabled while protecting 2 women during an ice storm. Becoming disabled did not stop Mark from caring and protecting others, and became a foster parent at 57 years old ultimately adopting Valeigh at 59 years old.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Shirley Ferguson and in law's Raymond, Carol and Cathy Brown as well as a host of other family and friends.
Mark’s biggest source of pride and happiness was spending time with his family and being a dad and a poppy (grandpa). He also adored spending time with his beloved pets.
A celebration of life will be hosted by the family following the Cremation. The celebration of his life will be at the family home and will be a pot luck where we will share our favorite memories.
