Sandra Kay (Genzer) DeMito known to family and friends as “Sandy” was born to Richard Lee and Bernadeen (Lynch) Genzer on December 3, 1945, in Oklahoma City. She began her heavenly life after a brief illness, surrounded by her family on Thursday evening, April 27, 2023. Sandy attended 8 years of Catholic Schools, graduating from Bishop McGuiness High School in 1964 she then attended and graduated from Paul’s Beauty College in November of 1964. Thus, beginning her career as a hairstylist for the next 53 years. During those years Sandy owned 5 beauty salons mostly known as “Scissor Snips” for the last 11 years before retiring from ownership. Following retirement, it didn’t take long for Sandy to pick up the scissors again to work part-time with her daughter and granddaughter for another 2 years. Sandy enjoyed traveling with friends to Italy, Bermuda, Alaska, Hawaii, Albuquerque, Cancun, and Branson. Sandy’s favorite pastime was West Coast Swing dancing. Sandy was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother adoring her family and longtime friends. She held a strong faith in God and his goodness. Sandy is survived by her daughter Deanna Turner and husband Tommy; granddaughters Kourtney Maze and husband David, and Kaitlyn Turner; great grandkids Aidyn and Caroline Eckart, Easton and Ryder Maze; her sister Barbara Devitt and husband Ivan; nephew Little Ivan Devitt and wife Charlotte; niece Sherry Devitt, other relatives and a host of friends.
