Sheldon Ansel Henson

Sheldon Ansel Henson was born March 1, 1991, and was called home by our Lord on May 11, 2023.

Sheldon had an infectious personality, a unique charm, and a welcoming demeanor. Those that knew him called him friend, and those that did not soon were. His love for reading gave him a quick wit and a dry, but funny, sense of humor. When not reading, he enjoyed the comradery of sports and computer gaming with friends and family. He was never afraid to compete in any endeavor.

Sergeant Sheldon Ansel Henson was a member of the armed forces, serving an extended tour in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom with Alpha Company, 801st Brigade Support Battalion, displaying a unique patriotism, valor, fidelity, and leadership on behalf of his Battalion and his country. Sheldon’s love of country was unequaled. 

He is survived by three beautiful children, Vania Henson, Christian Henson, and Oaklynn Henson, his brothers, John Henson and Robby Baker, father and stepmother Nick and Cindy Henson, and  grandparents Barbara and Jerry Croslin. He is predeceased by his mother, Robin Vania Rose Carver, and Grandmother Shirley Henson.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, May 24th, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at the Thunderbird Chapel 11395 OK-9, Norman, OK 73026 with a private reception to follow. 

Sheldon will be interred at the Fort Gibson National Cemetery at a later date.

NOTE: Flowers cannot be accepted at Thunderbird Chapel.  Instead, please send to 3992 Stonebrook Drive, Norman, OK  73072.  Arrangements will be transported to the Chapel the day of services.
