Sherri Lee (Gunter) Rehder was born on February 26, 1951 in California to Leland Leon and Jeanie (Wilson) Gunter and died on Monday, March 2, 2020 at home in Verden, Oklahoma
Sherri graduated from Hiram W. Johnson High School in Sacramento, California in 1969. While she lived in California she had various jobs, including working for the DMV, working as a CNA, cleaning houses, working at a Turkey Farm, driving for the “dial-a-ride” program, clerk typist, and custodian with the Waterford School District. She also did volunteer work, such as delivering library books to shut-ins.
She is survived by two daughters; Shonda and husband Robert Patterson of Verden, Oklahoma; Tami and husband Lee Brown of Huntsville, Alabama; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; one brother and sister in law, Randy and Judy Gunter of Cameron Park, California; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other loved ones.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Deborah Jean Gunter.
It was Sherri's wish not to have a funeral, but to just have people remember her and celebrate her life. She wanted to be cremated and have her ashes spread somewhere close to her heart. She said she wants no sadness, just rejoice in the fact that she is free of this earthly body and walking with the Lord! She also asked that if you wanted to do something, please send a donation to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in memory of Deborah Jean Gunter.
