Obituary
September 15, 2022, Stephen Edward Covert, MBA,CPA, loving son, husband, father, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend, went home to be with his Lord at the age of 73.
Steve was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma January 10, 1949, to Richard Lee Covert and Mary Lou (Francisco) Covert, Allton. He graduated from Putman City High School in 1967, graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1971, and from Tulsa University in 1978. Steve married, Addie Louise Brown, on January 14, 1972 with whom he raised three children David Brian, Stephen Michael, and Amy Louise.
Steve was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Michael, father, Richard Lee Covert, brother, David Lee Covert, step-father, Richard Allton, mother, Mary Lou Allton, sister-n-law, Linda Vernon. He is survived by wife Louise Covert, son David Covert, daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Jake Decker, sister Nancy Elisabet Covert, his brother Christopher Paul Covert, father-in-law John L. Brown, brother-in-law John Brown Jr. and wife Susan Brown, brother-n-law Michael Vernon, Uncle Bill Francisco, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Steve loved sailing on Oklahoma lakes with family and friends while living in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His passion was his career as a computer systems engineer and designing custom software programs.
Steve requested that memorial donations be made in his son’s memory to the Jimmy Everest Cancer Center, 901 N. Lincoln Blvd. Unit 305, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73104
