Terence Lee Seymour, age 72, died of complications of diabetes/dialysis on Monday, December 7, 2020 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He is survived by his wife, Judith Seymour of the home; his daughter, Michele Seymour of Muskogee, Ok; his son, Mark Seymour and his wife, Tania, and 2 beautiful granddaughters, Isla and Luisana all of Oklahoma City, OK; his sister, Jean Ball of Peoria, IL; his brother, Bruce Seymour and his wife, Becky, of Enid, OK; his sister, Wendy Lamon, of Enid, OK; his sister-in-law, Cathy Seymour of Mississippi; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jack Seymour; his mother, Norma Seymour-Stainsby; his brother, Jack Seymour of Mississippi; and his brother-in-law, Ken Ball of Peoria, IL.
Terry was born on January 1, 1948 in Peoria, IL to parents Jack and Norma (Connell) Seymour. He graduated from Enid High School in 1966. After graduating from high school, Terry joined the Army and became a Captain in the 3rd Brigade 82nd Airborne Division. While serving in the Vietnam War, he was awarded 2 Bronze Stars and other medals of recognition. Upon leaving the Army, Terry became a manager in various jobs in the oil field, retail, etc.
On December 29, 1967, Terry married Judy Cutting. They would have celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary in a few weeks. They have 2 children together, Mark and Michele. Terry was a great family man and loving father. He was always active in his community and church. He was always willing to help others out and made sure whatever job needed to be one, got done. Terry was a hard worker and never asked anyone to do something he wasn’t willing to do himself.
In June 1999, an accident at work left him unable to work any longer. It did not change his outlook on life. He still had a smile and a kind word to say to anyone he came in contact with. He was smart, kind, generous, hard working, and always provided for his family, even until he went to the hospital. The complete joy of his life the last few years has been spending time with his granddaughters, Isla and Luisana. He absolutely adored both of them and cherished every moment with them.
A funeral service is scheduled on Friday, December 18th at 2:00pm at St. Eugene Catholic Church at Hefner Rd, in Oklahoma City, OK. The Rev. Donald Wolf will be officiating. For those unable to attend, the service will be live streamed. Terry will be interred at Fort Gibson National Cemetery at a later time. The family would like to thank everyone for the flowers, phone calls, and messages. Though we will miss him terribly, we are all thankful he is no longer suffering. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or to a charity of your choice.
Cremation Services were performed by Affordable Cremation Service at 10900 N Eastern Ave, in Oklahoma City, OK.
